What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Enable DLP with Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to analyze and block sensitive content inside file attachments in Microsoft Teams, as well as extend DPI support to other instant messaging applications.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Currently, when using DLP on Microsoft Teams, the feature can successfully block sensitive information if the content is typed directly in chat, but it does not work when the same content is inside a file attachment. Even though DPI is enabled and the machine/app have been restarted, Teams does not inspect the actual file contents. The only way to block attachments now is by using file type restrictions, which is not an effective substitute. My request is for the vendor to enhance DPI capabilities to analyze the content of file attachments in Teams. Additionally, it would be very useful if DPI coverage could be extended to other popular instant messaging apps (such as Zalo, WhatsApp, and Viber) to ensure comprehensive data protection.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Right now, I can only block file attachments in Teams based on file type, but this does not address the real problem since users can still share sensitive content if it is embedded in a non-restricted file type.
