Auditing Dell Powerscale NAS - creating the Monitoring Plan

I need to configure my first monitoring plan for a Dell Powerscale NAS.

Netwrix version - 10.8

I followed the instructions for configuring the data source. i.e. copied the shell script over, and ran it on the NAS. But I’m having trouble with the creation of the monitoring plan.

I’m not sure what to put in for Name. I know the zone, and the OneFS URL, but I’m not sure of the File Share UNC path to audit logs, either.

When I created it, I get event ID 2003 error:

No file shares were found on the xxxxxxxx server.

Hi Joseph,

For the two fields you’re unsure about:

Name (Specify Dell Isilon storage array) — enter the IP address or hostname used to access shares in your access zone. Auditor uses this to construct share paths and enumerate shares.

File Share UNC path to audit logs — noted on the configuration page you already used. Must point to the System zone:

\\<System zone FQDN, NETBIOS, or IP>\netwrix_audit$\logs

Error 2003 has two likely causes in your case:

  1. The Name field contains an address that cannot be reached over SMB or has no accessible shares
  2. The Scope section has no shares configured — make sure either “All file shares” is selected, or at least one share is added under “Specific file shares”

Full field reference: Monitoring Plans > File Servers > Dell Isilon

If that is trickier, I think it is worth escalating to our support team so that we can instigate your case more carefully.
