What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
When moving a password entry to an OU that has no permission template configured, Netwrix Password Secure should display a prominent inline warning in the permissions step of the move dialog, alerting the user that no template is available and that permissions will not be changed automatically.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
When the target OU has no template configured, the dropdown correctly shows “No permission templates available.” However, this is only a passive, neutral message. There is no visual warning, no explanation of the implications, and no guidance on what the user should do next. The default selection remains “Keep permissions,” meaning a user moving a previously shared entry to their personal OU will unknowingly leave it visible to all previously authorized users. A clear inline warning — for example a highlighted notice reading “The target OU has no permission template. If you keep the existing permissions, this entry will remain visible to all currently authorized users.” — would provide the necessary context without changing the existing dialog structure. Optionally, the system could automatically switch the default selection to “Adjust manually” whenever no template is available, to prevent accidental oversharing.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Users must recognize on their own that “No permission templates available” implies a potential security risk, then manually switch to “Override” or “Extend” permissions and configure access rights by hand after the move. This step is non-obvious, easy to overlook, and entirely dependent on the user’s awareness of the permission model — making accidental oversharing a realistic and recurring risk.
