What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Mass file deletion alert
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
The idea would be to create an alert in case there is a mass deletion of files from any device on the network. It would also be interesting if it could notify when a device is moving files massively (setting a threshold).
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our product’s capabilities and deliver an exceptional user experience, we acknowledge the validity of your suggestion.
Therefore, great news! We have duly noted and documented it for implementation in future development plans.
However, at this time, I am unable to provide details regarding the specific timeline for it but as soon as this will be scheduled, updates will be shared.
To get notified when someone suddenly moves a large number of files outside the computer, you can use the Transfer Limit feature under Device Control → Global Settings → Transfer Limit. You can choose how many files is a user supposed to transfer in a set time interval. For example up to 50 files in 24 hours. If a user exceeds the limit, IT can get notified or you can also choose to restrict additional file uploads until the threshold resets.
The Transfer Limit feature can be applied to data transferred to USB drives, Content Aware Protection supported applications and even Network Shares.
Hope this helps with at least half of your request.
We have this option enabled, and it helps us in some cases.
We’re a company that moves many files daily. We’re interested in having more real-time data. It should detect if a large amount of data is being deleted or moved at that moment. Notifications within 24 hours may be late.
