Enable an automatic email alert to the end user whenever EPP detects or blocks an attempt to connect an external device
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
This request is for EPP to trigger an alert mail whenever it detects that a user has attempted to connect an external device and the system prompts the user.
1.Reduce manual workload
2.Improve user awareness and compliance
3. Provide real-time communication
4.Standardize and automate the process
5.Reduce repeated violations
6.Enhance audit and tracking
7.Customized message required(We need the ability to send a customized message such as:
“EPP has detected an attempt to connect this device: ‘Device details’. Please confirm whether this was for official use.”
This helps both IT and the user understand the event immediately.)
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
I am manually generating the blocked‑device report from EPP and sending an email/Teams message to the end user, requesting the required details, as shown below.
Our Endpoint Protector (DLP) system detected an attempt to connect the following external device: “Device details”.
Please confirm if this was intended for official use.

Before further proceeding with this, I would like to ask if you’ve considered to create a Device Control Alert for connecting an Unknown Device, as per below settings. Maybe this helps with your use case?
Secondly, I would like to inform you that we already have planned on our roadmap to introduce a new Device Control Alert for Newly Connected Device, but at the moment unfortunately I don’t have any ETA to share, more details regarding this will be provided upon progress.
Considering the above, please let me know if any of these approaches might address your use case. If not, I’ll be happy to further discuss and collect the necessary details that will effectively meet your needs.

Thank you for the update. The suggested Device Control Alert for Unknown Devices and the upcoming “Newly Connected Device” alert are helpful, but they do not fully match our requirement.
We specifically need an automated email notification sent directly to the end user whenever EPP blocks an external device and requests a reason for connecting it.
This email should include the device details and a customizable message from Corp IT , so we can eliminate the current manual process of generating reports and contacting users individually.
Please confirm if this can be considered as an enhancement request in the roadmap.
