What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
In Notifications Editor in Endpoint Policy Manager portal, give the ability to notify when a device is deleted.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
In Notifications Editor in Endpoint Policy Manager portal, give the ability to notify when a device is deleted. Either deletion by administrator or by computers auto-retirement function.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Use Immutable Log View and search for ComputerWasDeleted action.
Hey.. So before I consider this request, is this in larger idea to trying to prevent the next Strkyer stlye of attack of computers being deleted?
Or, is there some other reason you need “near realtime notice” of a computer being deleted ?
And how would you like to find out? We cant really “look up all customers and run a cron every minute” and send an email.. .that wouldn’t work. Maybe a daily digest of activity of a specific sort…
But, without me worrying yet about implementation details, whats the “reasoning behind the request” ?
We are adding more admins to the portal. Manager is looking for a way to be notified in case a device is removed by accident without him logging in to view and filter the immutable log. In this scenario I don’t believe real-time is required. A daily or weekly email digest should suffice.
Okay: DELETED computers isn’t something we can do YET. “Congrats” this feature has your name on it now.
It will be added here… which gets you some portion of what you want… kinda.. these are those which transition to un-licensed. But not expressly deleted or “stopped working” for an unknown reason; which I am also going to add (even though you didnt ask.)
NO ETA ON THIS… but "yes” I want to and will do this feature. It sends email 1x per week.
