What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
We would like more granular control over the EPP pop-up notifications for USB storage devices in the Device Types and Notifications section.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
We support two groups for device control, each with distinct USB device policies. Accordingly, we have separated them into two groups. We would like to customize USB storage device pop-up notifications with group-specific messages to guide end users on how to proceed when attempting to mount an unapproved USB storage device.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Thank you for sharing your feedback on Netwrix Endpoint Protector!
Currently, there are few ways to customize pop-up notifications for USB storage devices. You can try using the one of the options below, depending on your setup and needs:
Customize standard USB notifications
From the Device Types and Notifications page, you can enable and edit the messages shown on the Endpoint Protector Client using the Actions column.
Note: Custom Client Notifications can be enabled:
Globally, from Device Control → Global Settings, or
Individually, for specific users, computers, or groups, from their respective Settings sections.
Customize Content Aware Protection notifications
If you are using policy-based rules to monitor USB storage activity, you can create custom notifications for Content Aware Protection by navigating to: Device Types and Notifications → Custom Content Aware Protection Notifications → Create.
After creating the notification, apply it by selecting it in: Content Aware Protection Policy → Notification Template → Policy Template.
Customize Device Control User Remediation notifications
If Device Control with User Remediation is enabled, you can customize the pop-up messages by going to: Device Types and Notifications → Custom Device Control User Remediation Notifications.
Once the notification is created, you can select it from the User Remediation Notification Template drop-down, available in:
Device Control → Global Settings
