What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Prevent users sending a request for any device to be connected, while maintaining ability to send individual device requests
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Our policies dictate that no user should need an OTP to allow any device to be connected, and where this is needed for IT staff, there would be involvement from the EPP admins.
However, some of our non-IT users occasionally think EPP is blocking a device when it’s not (so they submit a Universal request as it’s the only option), we also have users not highlighting the blocked device before sending the request, so the details aren’t captured in the emails.
It is critical that we maintain the ability to receive requests by email so turning off the ability to send all requests is not feasible. My suggestion would be to simply hide the “Request Access” button from the UI until a blocked device is selected.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Currently, we have a copy and paste response to any user submitting a Universal OTP request. We also have guidance advising users to avoid this scenario, but given the size of our estate, it’s inevitable some will not receive or read the guidance.
