Add features to schedule reports that allow us to specify the “RUN AS” account and to add/customize the search field criteria on the scheduled report.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Currently when scheduling a report, the system executes the “Save to network path” option as the service account running Netwrix Auditor, or the Computer Account depending on how this is configured. We need the ability to save scheduled reports to a network share (not on the Auditor server) without granting the Computer Object access to the network share.
Additionally, we are unable to customize the date range of the report when scheduled. If we schedule the report to run Weekly, then it produces data from the time it runs back to ? (maybe the beginning of the week, maybe the last time the report ran the previous week?) There is no clear indication of what the timeframe is going to be when the report is scheduled. If the report was run manually in between the scheduled time, we don’t know if the date range is reset.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
I had to grant the computer object network share permissions and NTFS permissions to allow the report to be saved to a network share.
The date range challenge is not solved. I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping it works. The currently scheduled report is generated monthly, so I have a large time to wait between testing. If this doesn’t work, I will have to generate the reports manually each month and save them to the network share for the users.
