What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

An overhaul of the file maintenance - section to improve the management of shadow files

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

Managing multiple shadow files via the “File maintenance”-tab is very tedious at the moment. As they are sorted in folders based on the files-hash, it is incredible hard to manage them.

Currently it is not possible to

  • manage files based on their type, size, date, name, …
  • manage files from a specific client
  • have a look at the largest shadow files and decide if you want to delete them
    …

A revamp of this section would greatly improve the usability to manage shadow files.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

You have to click through the filehash-based folders and manage every single file individually.

Dear EDV Geis,

After alignment with Product Team colleagues please be informed that in our mid-term roadmap, we will focus our DEV effort and further improvements related of External File Shadows and it’s type, which is addressed by plenty of customers.
File Maintenance feature, has been announced as upcoming deprecation in latest Release Notes starting from 5.9.4.0 and following, so currently we are not considering to work on improvements there.
