What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

As an engineer, I need to remove specific types of data from file shadow so that i meet privacy/ works council agreements.

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

I would like the ability to be able to remove select data types from file shadow processes. Specifically I would like to be able to remove PII, but there may be other use cases that other teams have, so the ability to choose what data does and does not get picked up by file shadow is the request.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

We are not yet approved to turn on this feature because of the inability to remove PII.

Thank you for sharing your idea with us.

While we recognize the value of your suggestion, our current roadmap is fully dedicated to other high-priority initiatives, so for now we will not be able to consider this enhancement.

As a side note, you might find our File Maintenance feature helpful for your needs. It enables you to archive and delete shadowed files from a selected client computer, which could serve as a workaround.

Additionally, to have a clearer overview on the logs, you may find it helpful to filter the Content Aware Report based on the presence of File Shadows.
