Nested Groups for users that are part of multiple groups

What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Multiple options when working with users belonging to multiple groups

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

When working with users that belong to multiple groups, EPP admins should have the possibility to define nested groups: all rights set not equal to “Preserve global settings” across different groups should apply to these users.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Currently only the rights defined for the group with the highest priority (equal or closest to Priority 1) are applied to users belonging to multiple groups.

Hi Oana,

Thank you for submitting your feature request.

We’re pleased to let you know that this request is already on our product team’s radar and is currently under consideration.
As this would require substantial changes to the product architecture, along with deeper analysis to understand potential demand patterns and edge-case scenarios, further evaluation is needed before moving forward. Therefore, we’re now exploring the feasibility of implementing this functionality.

While we’re still in the early stages, initial support is tentatively targeted for the second half of 2026. Although we’re not yet able to commit to a fixed release date, this feature aligns with our long-term roadmap and strategic direction.

We’ll keep you updated on any progress or timeline refinements as they become available.

Regards,
Simona

Any updates on this from product?

Hello Eric,

Thank you for writing to us!

At the moment, there are no new updates to share, and the conclusions we previously communicated still apply. As previously mentioned, because this functionality would involve significant architectural changes and a deeper assessment to better understand demand patterns and possible edge cases, further evaluation is still underway.

Our current plan is to tentatively aim for initial support in the second half of 2026. Although we’re not yet able to confirm an exact release date, this feature remains part of our long-term roadmap and aligns with our overall product direction.

Rest assured that as soon as there’s progress on this item, we will update it!

Kind Regards,
Simona
