More options when working with groups
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
The option to duplicate/ clone a group of users and/or computers would help administrators be more efficient.
The clone should be customizable (offer the option to modify settings and rights compared to the original group), and have the name, description, and department it belongs to editable.
The clone should inherit all rights and settings defined for the original group.
Such an option would be useful when working with considerable numbers of computers and/or users that require variations in terms of rights, Specific Devices, fallback policies (Outside Hours and Outside Network), and Transfer Limit.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Currently a group of users and/or computers can only be built from scratch.
We’re pleased to let you know that the ability to duplicate (or clone) existing Groups — including preserving their names, permissions, and configurations — has already been added to our development agenda and is currently under active consideration.
Our team is carefully evaluating the technical requirements and exploring the most efficient and reliable way to implement this feature. While we’re committed to delivering a well-designed solution, we are not yet in a position to provide a specific timeline for its availability.
