Configurable typing speed for Auto-Type
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Desired feature:
Configurable typing speed for the Auto-Type feature in Password Secure, specifically:
- Delay between individual keystrokes
- Key press duration (key-down time)
Background:
When using Password Secure in remote desktop environments (e.g. a SPICE desktop via TeamViewer or similar solutions), the Auto-Type feature produces incorrect character input. Keyboard inputs are not processed reliably in such setups.
Testing shows that this is related to the current typing speed of the Auto-Type feature. The behavior can be reproduced with other Auto-Type tools (e.g. AutoHotkey): when the delay between keystrokes is too short, incorrect input also occurs.
Benefit:
With configurable typing speed settings, the Auto-Type feature could be flexibly adapted to different environments. This would significantly improve reliability, especially for remote desktop connections, and extend the range of use cases for the feature.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Unfortunately, passwords have to be entered manually as a workaround.
