Implement "Known Issues" Announcement Section

What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Create a “Known Issues” announcement section on the Announcements Page to inform users of current issues and enhance transparency.

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

Having a dedicated “Known Bugs” announcement section on the Announcements Page would greatly enhance communication and transparency between the PingCastle development team and its users.

Currently, when users encounter issues, there is often a lack of clarity regarding whether these problems are recognized and being addressed by the development team. By listing known bugs publicly, users would be better informed about existing issues, allowing them to make more informed decisions regarding their use of the tool.

This transparency can reduce frustration and support calls, as users can see which issues are being worked on. It also fosters a sense of trust and engagement within the user community, as they will feel that their feedback and concerns are acknowledged and taken seriously.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Currently, when Issues arise, I often have to rely on me actively reaching out or use informal communication channels to discover if such issues are recognized by the team.
This gap in communication can lead to confusion, wasted time, and repeated troubleshooting when encountering the same bugs without awareness of their status.

Hi Philipp, Thanks for the feedback. I totally understand the case, especially with all the claims issues that take a long while to troubleshoot, and think this could be useful but I know the PingCastle > Announcements section is not directly intended for this use case.

@jordan.violet and @derek.putnam are our community experts. What do you guys propose we do here? My initial thoughts would be to use the PingCastle > Discussions & Questions section? It could be a good thing for escalations to be posted as “Known Issues” in there or just have a new section directly in PingCastle? Completely open to suggestions as always :slight_smile:

@Phibu this is a great idea! Derek and I will think about how we can implement this. A question, if I may:

  • Do you imagine this known issues space would be community-submitted, known issues? Or do you imagine it would be a live log of issues that Netwrix would push out and maintain?

I do think User Issues should be submitted via Support Ticket. That way Newtrix has an Overview of OpenIssues and can aggregate and co-relate them. So the Announcement should be maintained by Netwrix only.

Opening the Ideas Space for public discussion/issue requests may lead to more Issues instead of going through regular Support.

Mentioning Bugs/Issues in Idea Requests is fine i think, but it requires more soltution-oriented thinking than a simple Bug Report.
