Day-of-Week Scheduling for Alerts (consider different timeframes for specific days)

What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

I’m requesting the ability to add a filter for specific days of the week to customize when alerts are triggered, in addition to the existing time-based filters.

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

I’ve noticed that while it’s possible to apply filters based on time when configuring alerts, there currently seems to be no option to add a filter for specific days of the week. I’m referring to the ability to configure alerts so that they trigger only on certain days, excluding others.

For example, it would be useful to have a filter that ensures the alert does not trigger on Monday and Tuesday, but instead triggers on the subsequent days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, etc.). A filter like “Weekdays not equal Monday, Tuesday” would be extremely helpful to avoid false alarms on specific days, and would allow for further customization of alerts according to operational needs.

I believe that adding a day-of-week filter would significantly improve the granularity and flexibility of alerts, enabling even more precise management of workflows and monitoring.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Currently, we rely solely on the time-based filter for configuring alerts, but unfortunately, this doesn’t fully meet our needs. While the time filter allows us to trigger alerts within specific time intervals, it doesn’t allow us to exclude or select specific days of the week, which makes it difficult to tailor the alerts to our actual operational requirements.
It would therefore be very useful to have the ability to add a filter for specific days of the week, to further refine the management of alerts and improve accuracy in our operations.

@Giulia hi, the functionality you are requesting is quite clear to me, but I’m not sure I understand why would you want the alerts to be triggered on one day and not the other, if those are weekdays. Could you please share a use case for it?

Hi @dimav, What I would like is the ability to set the alert to be active only from Monday to Friday at night, while being active 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. That’s why I was asking for the possibility to filter by days of the week as well, and not just by time slots (which is already possible). Thank you!

@Giulia got it, perfect, thanks!

Hi,

we have the same issue monitoring logon activities on our customers.
Do you have any news regarding this implementation?

We also have this issue with monitoring activities afterhours and on the weekends - would be nice to get an update on this

Hi @derek.putnam , I see that Dmitry is no longer an active user. Is it possible to get any updates regarding this feature, which should be under review? Thank you!

Hi @Giulia

Thanks so much for following up and for sharing such use case. It’s super helpful! We’ve added the Day-of-Week Alert Filter idea to our roadmap and we are planning it. This enhancement would allow to choose which days alerts should or shouldn’t trigger, giving more flexibility alongside existing time filters.

No confirmed release date yet, but it’s under review and on our radar. Really appreciate your thoughtful feedback!
