What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Provide the ability to pause monitoring plans on a schedule.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Because we use IaaS resources for our servers, we shut the non-prod servers down after hours and on weekends to save on compute cost. Our Netwrix app and database servers run 24x7x365. When our File Server monitoring plan is doing its thing off-hours, it generates a ton of errors logs because it cannot access the non-prod VMs as they are shit down. Then when i get the health summary email, it looks like there are a bunch of failures.
Similar to what NDC has, I would like the ability to pause a monitoring plan during certain hours. This feature should provide the ability to select a timeframe across all days, or one or more days.
For example, our non-prod servers only run 7AM to 10 PM Mon-Fri. Like in NDC, I want to tell Auditor to pause the monitoring plan from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM and 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM Mon-Fri and to pause entirely on Saturdays and Sundays.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
I don’t. I just have to check to make sure all of the sources are being monitored properly when I come in every morning and ignore the health status email. Also, when searching the Event Log entries, I need to be mindful of the ones generated off-hours in that they might be because of the non-prod servers.
