5.9.5.0 EPP webUI: SmartGroups redesign

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

Improvement to extend the conditions of creating Smart Groups to contain more proprieties for Computer’s and User’s groups by:

  • add extending list of properties might be used as criteria’s, ex. :
    • Computer groups:
    • Computer ID
    • Username
    • Serial Number
    • Domain
    • Workgroup
    • Department
    • Groups
    • OS
    • and manny more…
  • add dropdown for Operators with values: IS/IS NOT
  • add dropdown with conditions AND/OR
  • add a new input field for Values

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Hi Henrique,

I hope this message finds you well! It’s been a while since we last connected, and I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you.

We’ve completed the rework of our Smart Group feature for both computer and user groups, and it’s currently undergoing testing in our QA department. This enhancement will enable you to use a wide range of computer and user detail values as criteria, with options for wildcards and free combinations—all within a user-friendly interface.

Additionally, we’ve introduced a configurable interval for group refreshment, among other improvements. As someone deeply involved in its development, I’m confident that our updated and flexible EPP Smart Groups will meet even the most demanding needs.

I’ll keep you posted as soon as we have an fixed ETA for the upcoming server release.
