Centralized profile for Entra-ID connection usable in all databases
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Currently you have to setup an AD or EntraID profile per database. If you have a lot of databases it is really a pain to maintain these profiles. Secrets are expiring every 90 days on company policy. You need to login to every database to exchange the secret. Additionally I have to raise change-requests for every database to get the updates at entra. There is no direct access to app integrations available within our company.
It makes more sense to have one single connection where the users get pulled into a central database. From there all database admins pull them to their databases as needed. I would think most of the tools on the market are having a centralized user management.
Would also to be ok, to reuse one centralized profile in every database.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
With a lot of work efforts. Big risk for incidents for users not able to access the tool.
