What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Add the ability to either automatically prioritize a designated “Favorite” password for autofill when multiple credentials match the same URL, or display an interactive selection menu allowing the user to choose from matching entries - or do both

Sehr geehrtes Netwrix-Team,

wir setzen in unserem Unternehmen Netwrix Password Secure (aktuell Version 9.1) produktiv ein und nutzen das Browser-Add-on für Firefox zum automatischen Ausfüllen von Anmeldedaten.

Dabei gibt es Websites, für die in unserer Datenbank mehrere Passwortdatensätze hinterlegt sind – darunter mein persönliches Benutzerkonto sowie geteilte Service-Accounts, auf die ich über Berechtigungen Zugriff habe. Dies ist bei uns bewusst so eingerichtet und stellt keinen Konfigurationsfehler dar.

Aktuelles Verhalten: Öffne ich eine solche Seite, erscheint folgende Meldung und es wird kein Passwort automatisch eingetragen:

„Es wurde kein Passwort automatisch eingetragen, da für mehr als ein Passwort Autofill aktiviert ist."

Dieses Verhalten ist in Ihrer Dokumentation unter „Several passwords for one website" beschrieben. Demnach wird der automatische Eintrag bei mehreren passenden Datensätzen mit aktiver Autofill-Funktion bewusst unterbunden.

Mein Problem damit: Ich habe mein persönliches Passwort als Favorit markiert, in der Erwartung, dass dieses bei mehreren Treffern bevorzugt für den Autofill verwendet wird. Laut Ihrer Dokumentation hat die Favoriten-Markierung jedoch keinen Einfluss auf das Autofill-Verhalten bei mehreren Übereinstimmungen.

Meine Feature-Request:

Ich bitte um die Implementierung einer der folgenden Verbesserungen:

Priorisierung des Favoriten: Wenn für eine URL mehrere Datensätze mit aktiver Autofill-Funktion existieren und genau eines davon als Favorit markiert ist, wird dieses automatisch eingetragen – analog zur bestehenden Favoriten-Funktion, die jedoch aktuell keinen Einfluss auf den Autofill hat.

Alternativ: Auswahlmenü beim Autofill: Statt den Eintrag komplett zu unterlassen, erscheint ein Dropdown- oder Pop-up-Menü mit allen passenden Datensätzen, aus dem der Benutzer den gewünschten Eintrag direkt auswählen kann. Dieses Verhalten ist bei anderen Passwortmanagern (z. B. dem integrierten Passwort-Manager von Firefox, Bitwarden, KeePassXC-Browser) gängige Praxis und hat sich im Alltag bewährt.

Idealerweise ließe sich dies auch kombinieren: Der Favorit wird als Standard vorausgewählt, der Benutzer kann bei Bedarf aber abweichend auswählen.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Der dokumentierte Workaround – die Autofill-Funktion für alle anderen betreffenden Datensätze zu deaktivieren – ist für uns keine praktikable Dauerlösung, da die Service-Accounts für Kollegen ebenfalls per Autofill genutzt werden sollen.

Hi, and welcome to the community! Thanks for making your first post here and for such a detailed one at that.

Good news: the selection menu you’re asking for as an alternative already exists.

When Password Secure detects multiple entries with autofill enabled for the same website, it currently won’t guess which one you want automatically. Instead:

  1. Click the Password Secure icon in your browser toolbar
  2. You’ll see a list of all matching entries for that website (including your personal account and any shared service accounts you have access to)
  3. Click the entry you want, and it gets filled into the login form right away

So the behavior you described from other password managers is actually already there - it’s just one click away via the toolbar icon rather than appearing automatically on the page. The message you’re seeing simply means “There is more than one match, please pick”. It does not mean “Nothing can be filled in”.

The part of your idea about having a marked favorite entry automatically win isn’t something we support today. As we see it as a reasonable idea, we’ve noted it as a feature suggestion for our product team to consider. But for now, we cannot say if and when it is implemented.

I simply hadn’t understood that I can select an account there.
