What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
If an AD monitoring plan fails due to a permissions change or SQL connectivity issue, administrators would receive an immediate alert, allowing them to remediate the issue before audit data is missed.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Currently, when an Active Directory monitoring plan encounters errors (for example, collection failures, permission issues, SQL connectivity problems, or agent/service issues), administrators often become aware of the problem only after manually logging into the Netwrix console and reviewing plan status or logs.
I propose adding proactive error notifications and alerts for AD monitoring plans, so administrators are immediately informed when a monitoring plan is not functioning as expected.
Proposed Functionality
Automatically generate alerts when:
An AD monitoring plan fails to collect data
Collection errors persist beyond a defined threshold
Required permissions are missing or revoked
SQL or service-related issues prevent data collection
Support multiple notification methods:
Email alerts
Existing Netwrix alerting mechanisms
Optional dashboard or health status indicators
Allow configuration of:
Alert severity levels
Notification frequency (immediate, scheduled, repeated failures only)
Recipient groups (AD admins, security team, monitoring team)
Business Value
Reduces monitoring blind spots caused by unnoticed collection failures
Improves security posture by ensuring AD changes are continuously audited
Saves administrative time by eliminating the need for manual checks
Helps meet compliance and audit requirements by ensuring monitoring gaps are detected quickly
