Onboarding Guide
This guide will walk you through the user onboarding process and highlight key differences from Netwrix Change Tracker, which is the on-premises version.
For reference, see the on-premises documentation for broader platform knowledge. Below, we focus on what’s unique to the SaaS experience.
Ensure you have read and agree with the End User License Agreement
1. Account Creation & Authentication
Registration Steps
Provide Email Address
- Upon purchase, you’ll be asked for the email address that will be used as the administrator login credentials.
Activate Your Account
- You will receive an activation email from us containing a unique activation link.
- Click the activation link to set up your password and enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA is required for all logins.
Login for the First Time
- Access the SaaS portal with your new credentials.
Adding More Users
Navigate to Users Page
- After logging in, go to the Users section.
Invite Your Team
- Create new user accounts for your team members. Each user will receive an activation email where they set up their own password and MFA following the same workflow.
2. Post-Setup Requirements
Mandatory Password Update
During initial deployment the “agent” and “ITSM” logins are given highly secure auto-generated passwords that act as placeholders until they are replaced. The admin must immediately change these default passwords to ones of their own choice that conform to 1Secure security standards. This can be done in the same Users page used to create accounts for your team. Service like accounts with the agent or ITSM roles will not send activation emails. Instead, an Admin can set the password for these accounts directly on the Users page.
3. ITSM Integration Settings

The Sync Service is used to integrate with ITSM systems. A grid is available in the advanced section of System Settings where configuration settings can be applied.

4. Email Settings
SMTP Configuration
- SMTP is pre-configured for you using 1Secure’s internal SendGrid integration.
- Do not change these SMTP settings unless explicitly instructed by 1Secure support. Modifying SMTP settings may prevent system notifications emails from being delivered.
5. Additional Notes
- For all other configurations, policies, and monitoring setup, follow the general steps as outlined in the on-premises documentation.
- SaaS support and platform differences will be communicated via email and portal notifications as they become available.
