Update on RSA to ECC Database Migration - Support extended!

Earlier, we announced the end of support for RSA-based databases starting end of 2025, requiring all customers to migrate to ECC databases.

We’re pleased to share that the migration has been a great success, with many customers already transitioned successfully. However, we recognize that some of you are still facing challenges with the migration process.

To support you further, we’ve decided to extend RSA database support beyond this year, while we continue working on improvements to ease the transition.

We’ll share more details soon!!

Hello Sascha,

where can we find detailed information about the migration process? I found this URL via Google but it’s an empty page: https://docs.netwrix.com/bundle/PasswordSecure_9.0/page/Content/PasswordSecure/Configuration/AdminClient/ECC_Migration/ECC_Migration_Administrator_Manual.htm

Hi Rico! Welcome to the community
Is this what you’re looking for?

Hello Together!
are there any experiences on how long the migration process takes? In our case, only a loading screen appeared in the Admin Client and the process could only be tracked via the log file. However, there was no percentage display or anything similar. After 3 hours, I had to stop the process for the time being. We have two databases, the largest of which is approximately 7GB in size.

Thank you!

We’re having the same experience. We started yesterday at 2 PM and today at 10 AM the migration is still ongoing. The progress can be viewed in the log file.

Are there any updates regarding the extension of support for the migration?

Hey all :waving_hand:

Just as a short update: since we’re still working on improvements and have already started to test some of them with individual customers, we still need some time.

For now, no new deadline or end-of-support date has been set for RSA databases. Updated timelines will be communicated as soon as they are available and will provide sufficient runway for planning.

Cheers,
Sascha
