Sub-version upgrade

Currently using NTM 3.0.390. After this version, there are many sub-versions, such as 3.0.473, 3.0.480, and 3.0.493.

If these versions have fixes for issues encountered by the client, it would be very time-consuming to keep uninstalling and reinstalling,

especially since there are many NTM clients. Therefore, I need to know if there is a faster way to deploy updates.

Hello :waving_hand:,

As far as I am aware, for Threat Manager specifically you do not need to uninstall before upgrading. You can run the installer and install it straight away, it will do the upgrade on its own. That should speed up things a bit!

We tend to release patch frequently in order to be as reactive as we can to customer feedback and issues with the app.

So far there isn’t a different way to upgrade Threat Manager than going through the installer.

It’s really valid feedback though, I will have a look if we can do something about it .

Hi,

Customers do not need to upgrade to each individual sub version.

In your case you’d upgrade from 3.0.390 to the latest NTM version (3.0.493), this is accomplished by using the installer.

Does this answer your question? Please let me know

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. Due to the large number of NTM servers on the customer side, frequently logging into the server to install NTM updates may cause inconvenience to the client. Is there a possibility to implement the NTM update through a deployment method, such as file replacement or other automated mechanisms?

Hi,

We understand how an automated deployment approach would be helpful, especially for large environments. Currently, we don’t have plans to add this feature in the short-to-medium term, but we value your insight and will keep it in mind for our future roadmap.

I believe our Product Management department has a call with your customer this month, we can discuss this topic further on that call.

Thanks
