Indeed, Microsoft has announced that starting with SQL Server 2025, SSRS will no longer be included and will instead be replaced by on-premises Power BI Report Server.
This is definitely a valid concern, especially since Auditor relies on SSRS.
I’ve already downloaded and tested Power BI Report Server locally, and it appears to be working well. From what I can see, the UI, installation process, and configuration are very similar to the 2022 version, so there doesn’t seem to be a major shift — at least for now.
Once SQL Server 2025 is officially released, we will perform a compatibility check to ensure Auditor works properly in that environment.
It feels more like SSRS just got a new name and packaging — functionally, it’s still alive and well.
Also, there is a blurb in one of their articles that SSRS 2022 will continue to be supported until 2033 and will be compatible with SQL Server 2025 and beyond. That gives everyone time to convert.
