Request to add an on/off option for notifications in the Clipboard Detect Images feature

What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Request to add an on/off option for notifications in the Clipboard Detect Images feature.

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

When using the Windows default screen capture (Win + Shift + S), the captured image is automatically copied to the clipboard. As a result, a block or detection notification is triggered, which causes inconvenience for users who frequently use the screen capture feature.

Adding an option to enable or disable notifications for the Clipboard Detect Images feature would help reduce unnecessary alerts while still allowing the detection functionality to work as intended.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Currently, when Detect Images is enabled, a notification appears every time a user performs a default Windows screen capture, which causes inconvenience for users.

Hello @jwkim,

Hello, @simona.lazsadi

Could you please share the progress update when you have a moment?

Thank you.

Hello @jwkim,

Thank you for your patience.

We understand your need for more flexibility in this area, and while we can consider further improvements, there are a couple of options already available that may help you achieve your desired outcome.

For that, you can create a separate Content Aware Protection policy specifically for Clipboard operations and set the action to “Block Only”. This approach will enforce the restriction without triggering any notifications.

Additionally, you have the option to disable notifications entirely by turning off the “Client Notifications” setting within the CAP policy.

These configurations should help you better tailor the behavior to your needs. Please let me know your thoughts or if you’d like any guidance in setting this up.

Regards,
Simona

Hello, @simona.lazsadi

Thank you for providing the suggested options.

However, even when we create a separate Content Aware Protection policy specifically for clipboard operations, enable image detection, and set the action to “Block Only,” notifications are still triggered.

The same behavior occurs even when the action is set to “Report,” where report notifications are still generated.

Additionally, while it is possible to disable notifications entirely by turning off the “Client Notifications” setting within the CAP policy, this is difficult to apply in practice because users need to be aware when an actual paste action is blocked.

If this behavior is not expected, should we open a separate support ticket for further investigation?

Thank you.

Hello @jwkim,

Thank you for your feedback.
Please contact our Support Team by opening a ticket and they will be happy to assist you further in configuring the right policies or investigate further this behavior. If there’s indeed an issue, they will collect all the necessary details for further troubleshooting.

In the meantime, I will register your improvement idea on our side and whenever opportunity arises in future, we will take it into consideration.

If there’s anything else I may help you with–don’t hesitate to ask me.

All the best,
Simona
