Promise of NDC 5.8

In Spring of 2024, I had opened a support case with Netwrix on the topic of “Indexer Improperly shutdown”. In communicating with support staff the statement was made that this issue was known in versions up to current, but that 5.8 was expected to resolve this issue. The support engineer mentioned that the new version was to be out by end of summer 2024. Still haven’t seen the new version, and occasionally I do still see the “Indexer Improperly shutdown” message in the console. I feel like this happens when NDC is going through a larger than normal File Share that it is crawling. It seems to Collect rather quickly, but the Indexer doesn’t seem to keep the same pace, and then the message.
Anyone else experience this type of issue?

Hi Ralph, welcome to the Netwrix Community! :waving_hand:

Based on your description, it sounds like the sporadic “Indexer improperly shutdown” message is related to memory and likely due to image processing. It is possible this could be resolved by decreasing threads or increasing memory. It would be difficult to say for sure without more detail, so we’d like to get on a call with you to review. Then we can post the outcome here on the Community if anybody else is also having this problem. Support is is opening a new case for you and will get a call scheduled to get to the bottom of this.

I feel your pain. I was first told about 5.8 in late 2023 for a one issue and then again for a different one in July.

I’m also having a similar issue to you, but didn’t open a ticket on it yet.
