Programmatically Recommend SDD Settings based on Host/Proxy Resources

What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Dynamically recommend appropriate Concurrent Threat and SDD settings based on Host/Proxy resources

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

The collection of File System Sensitive Data requires a sophisticated consideration of the available CPU and RAM of the Host or Proxy performing the scan. Having a means for Access Analyzer to read these resources and either make or set recommended values of concurrent threads and SDD Processes can remove some guess work or errors when configuration and optimizing SDD data collection

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Some manual calculation, and trial and error adjusting the concurrent threads and SDD process values

Thanks, Brandon - taking this under review.

Great idea Brandon! This is sometimes a challenge when configuring the environment. There are a lot of variables involved. Some items to pay attention to is if the scan host will be the server in which NAA is installed on, make sure to account for what solutions are enabled and when scans are running. For example, SharePoint cannot run on a proxy so it needs resources to scan, if those scans take two weeks to run that may mix with FS scans running therefore, we need to reduce the threads, so the SP scan is not interrupted. Consideration of the interfaces being used as well like AIC and the NAA console itself.

I agree this would be a great to suggest a configuration but to make sure we can always tune it as well as needed.
