We have been using RAG Portal since it was first introduced, and I’m wondering whether anyone else is actually using it.
When connecting to a server with the default PAM policy “Add Requester to Local Administrators”, the user has to enter their password in the RAG Portal RDP tab. In our case, some of the numpad keys do not work (*, -, +). We opened a support case, but were advised to submit it as an idea instead. Is this issue specific to our environment, or has anyone else experienced the same problem?
Today I upgraded to the latest version, 26.07, and now the colors in the RAG Portal RDP window appear mixed up — red and blue seem to be swapped. Do you know how this can be resolved?
What version of guacd are you running in the Gateway? We recommend 1.5.3 for now. The color swap is a known issue with 1.6, and we will support that in a future release. We have to check if that also affects the numpad issues.
I just had another thought about why having all numpad keys working may be more important in Lithuania and other countries that use more letters than the standard English alphabet.
When using the Lithuanian keyboard layout, the number row at the top of the keyboard is used for Lithuanian characters. To type numbers, we usually need to switch the keyboard layout to English. Because of this, many users rely heavily on the numpad, and using numpad numbers and symbols has become a very common habit.
With the current issue, if a password contains numbers or symbols and the numpad cannot be used, we have to switch the keyboard layout to English before entering the password. Users often do not notice this at first, which results in an incorrect password being entered and having to type it again.
