What’s the difference between 7.5.0.242 and 244? I am going to be upgrading tonight and have the 242 version. Please advise

Seems like the release notes link is broken as well, instead of getting to release notes section its redirecting to documentation page

Hi Jay,

The only differences between versions 7.5.0.242 and 7.5.0.244 are the two fixes below, which have already been resolved:

  • 400587: Upgraded the BouncyCastle cryptography library
  • 405320: Added an index on the utcTimeLogged column in the NvEvent table

No other changes are included between these two builds.

Thank you for flagging it. The link used to go to the documentation, but release notes are now posted here in the Community. Looks like the redirect wasn’t updated yet, we’ll get it fixed so it points to the right post. Thanks for letting us know!

Hi Jay - sorry but we have some confusion here. Tatiana’s comments apply to a recent 7.4 build not 7.5. There is no functional difference between the 7.5.0.242 and 7.5.0.244 builds. The change was because in 7.5.0.242 the ADMonitor DLL had an older version stamp. To avoid confusion, we want all files to have same version stamp even if the code did not change from the previous build. In build 244 ADMonitor and all other files have the 244 version stamp. I don’t think the full installer for 244 is on our site yet in which case you are fine to use 242.

Thanks Tony, really appreciate the explanation. This helps for sure!

Question from another customer on this:
”Will the ADMonito DLL be updated with a new version stamp every time a new Agent is released? Just curious and not a big deal but, want to include on change control in the future.”

Yes - ADMonitor DLL version is synched to version of NTP Agent whenever agent is rebuilt. On one occasion it was not a few weeks ago due to a certificate issue.
