INTRODUCING: New Privilege Secure MCP Server

Empower AI to help you monitor, manage, and audit privileged access with live context

We are pleased to introduce the initial release of the Netwrix Privilege Secure MCP Server, a new capability that enables AI-driven visibility and control across your Privilege Secure environment by connecting supported AI platforms through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The MCP Server enables AI systems to securely interact with Privilege Secure in a context-aware way. Once connected, supported tools can query privilege data, session activity, and credential states using structured natural language prompts. This helps teams automate routine privilege tasks, accelerate incident response, and gain deeper insight into access risk using their preferred AI assistant.

This functionality is ideal for use with MCP-compatible tools such as Claude Desktop or Claude for Work.

Use Cases

With the MCP Server, AI platforms can:

  • Monitor active privileged sessions and view live screenshots
  • Search command history to identify suspicious activity
  • Identify administrators with outdated passwords
  • Track managed credentials that require rotation
  • Automate security audits and compliance reporting

These tasks can be executed in response to natural language prompts without manually navigating dashboards or reports.

What You Can Do with It

The initial MCP Server release includes support for the following tools:

Session Monitoring

  • get_active_sessions – Retrieve active privileged sessions
  • get_active_session_image – Capture a live image of an active session
  • search_metadata_history – Search for specific commands run in user sessions

Credential Management

  • get_admin_credentials_older_than – Identify admin credentials older than a specified number of days
  • get_managed_credentials_older_than – Detect managed passwords that may require rotation

Event Search

  • get_events_from_server – Search the latest 10 events that match specific keywords

Version Info

  • get_nps_version – Check the version of your Netwrix Privilege Secure instance

Where to Find It

The MCP Server is available now and published on GitHub:

Security Considerations

IMPORTANT: This feature is designed for use exclusively by users with administrator privileges. For security best practices, we recommend creating a dedicated administrator service account with a strong password and properly configured multifactor authentication (MFA) for this MCP server.

This initial release is focused on essential administrator operations. Future updates will expand authentication options and introduce additional access controls.

Join the Learning Lab

See these capabilities in action during our upcoming hands-on MCP Learning Lab. You’ll learn how to use AI tools like Claude Desktop to:

  • Query Access Analyzer and Privilege Secure using natural language
  • Build investigations that span both products using AI workflows
