What version are you using? (OS, client, server, etc.)
Windows EPP Client: 2602.1.2.0
macOS EPP Client: 2602.2.2.0 -
For the scenario you’re describing, what settings/configuration do you currently have in place?
Basic CAP testing policy - all file types, policy exit points, custom content added, DPI enabled
-
What error messages or unexpected behavior are you seeing?
For iCloud, we can see logs for a PDF file or a Word document ( they get detected and blocked) , but it doesn’t block nor log the text file being uploaded. The said text files contains the custom content added in the policy.
-
What have you tried so far?
No workaround to getting it blocked.
Hello Vishwa,
I hope you are well.
Thank you for the detailed report. Before we go further, could you confirm whether the behavior you are describing — text files not being blocked or logged — is occurring on Windows, macOS, or both? This will help us point you in the right direction.
To give you some context on where we currently stand with iCloud support:
Windows: iCloud Drive blocking has been supported for some time and should be functioning within your policy configuration. If you are seeing text files bypass the policy on Windows, we would recommend raising this with our Technical Support Engineering team with logs and steps to reproduce, as this would warrant a closer investigation.
macOS: Full iCloud Drive support as a Policy Exit Point is currently not available on the Mac client. This means that on macOS, files uploaded to iCloud — including text files — may not be blocked or logged as expected, regardless of policy configuration. We recognize this is a gap and are working on adding iCloud as a supported exit point in an upcoming client release. We will follow up with a confirmed timeline as soon as it is available.
Please let us know which platform you are testing on and we will make sure you are guided accordingly.
Regards,
Cristi
