What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

i would like to customize the time an override is permitted by use case in user remediation

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

As an engineer, I want to configure user remediation time for override based on the use case instead of globally so that i can allow the minimum time needed for each use case. For example, if a use case takes 10 minutes to complete, I would like to apply a selectable time range of 10-20 minutes, instead of allowing up to 120 minutes for a more in depth use case.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

we have not yet implemented, but plan to allow all use cases to have access for the amount of time required for our longest use case.

Hi Bree,

Thank you — the use case is clear. A global override duration is a blunt instrument when different workflows have meaningfully different time requirements, and the minimum-necessary-time principle makes sense from a security standpoint.

We’ll take this into consideration for a future release. No commitment on timing, but it’s logged and the reasoning is noted.
