How are Entra ID users counted against the license?

I have a license for 300 users, matching my on prem AD but my tenant has 404 active users but the license page in Auditor is reading 339. What users are counted towards the Entra ID license?

@Jonathan hi, you can learn more about the licensing counters here: Netwrix Auditor Licensing FAQs, but the gist is those are your enabled accounts, excluding guest/external. Also, you can exclude some accounts manually as explained here Microsoft Entra ID Monitoring Scope

Thanks. Will I lose any functionality while I’m temporarily out of license compliance?

@Jonathan no, you shouldn’t we understand that you cannot always keep track of the user number and losing audit data for that period of time would not be desirable. You will see all sorts of notifications about that, and by the agreement you have to address that, but Auditor will keep collecting data. It will stop collecting when the license expires.
