đź’ˇ Getting Started with the Netwrix Ideas Portal đź’ˇ

Have an idea to improve a Netwrix product? You’re in the right place. This guide will walk you through how to submit your idea in the Netwrix Ideas Portal!

This isn’t your typical “drop a note in the suggestion box on your way out” situation. When you submit an idea here, you’re starting a journey — and you’re the champion of your idea. Submitting your idea here isn’t the end of the process, it’s the beginning!

Whether you’re dreaming up a new feature, improving an existing one, or solving a pain point — this is where it all begins!

How to Submit an Idea

  1. Find the right product portal
Each Netwrix product has a category in our community, and each product has its own subcategory for ideas. The Netwrix Community can be found here (spoiler: you’re already here!): https://community.netwrix.com/. Simply navigate to the product of your choice and click on the ideas portal for that product! Here’s a table with some shortcuts:

  1. Click the + New Idea button
You’ll see a structured input form that helps you articulate your idea clearly and completely.

  2. Fill out the form thoughtfully
The better the input, the stronger the case for your idea. Here’s what we ask for — and why it matters:

    • Title (required)
Keep it clear and concise so others can quickly understand what it’s about.
    • Tags (optional)
Choose any tags from our tag list that you feel relevant, if you wish.
    • Summary (required)
A one-sentence of your idea—your most succinct description of the feature you are requesting.
    • Detailed Description (required)
This is where you dive deep. What problem are you solving? Why is it important?
    • Current Workaround (optional, but helpful)
If you’re doing something manually or via workaround, share that! It helps our team understand the impact.
    • Image Attachments (optional)
You may share any supporting screenshots/images, if you wish.
    • Other File Attachments (optional)
You may also share any supporting files that you feel are relevant to the idea.

:bullseye: After You Submit: What Happens Next?

When you submit an idea, it’s automatically tagged with new. This means it’s waiting for a formal review by our product team. Within 14 business days, a Netwrix product manager will jump in to provide an update!

From there, we’ll keep you informed at every step. You’ll see your idea move through our process using these tags:

Tag What It Means
#new Just submitted and awaiting review.
#under-review We’re actively considering it — gathering feedback, checking feasibility, and aligning with roadmap priorities.
#planned Great news — it’s been accepted for future development.
#in-progress We’ve started building it! Stay tuned for updates.
#completed It’s done! The feature has been released. :tada:
#not-planned We’ve decided not to pursue this idea. We’ll explain why.
#already-exists This functionality already exists! We’ll link you to where and how.

:handshake: Championing Your Idea

Posting your idea is just the beginning. Ideas that get support from the community and are well-written stand a much better chance of making it onto our roadmap. Here’s how you can help it gain traction:

  • Share it!
If you’ve discussed this feature elsewhere in the community, or you see discussions where this idea could help, drop a link to your idea there! Cross-pollinating conversations helps everyone see that the idea exists, and helps our product managers see where related discussions are happening.

  • Rally support
Ask peers who’ve mentioned similar needs to vote or comment on your idea. Do your best to find people who share the problem; farming upvotes will only hurt the community.

  • Be available
Stay engaged in the conversation for the ideas you’ve submitted. Help answer questions, clarify feedback, and refine your proposal if necessary.

:speech_balloon: Need Help?

If you’re unsure whether your idea fits, or you’re not sure how best to describe it — don’t worry. You can always message our community team by sending a DM to @community_management and we’ll help

We’re excited to see what you come up with, and even more excited to build the future of Netwrix with you! :raising_hands:
