add more Security Granularity
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
I was wondering if security withing the Data Classification product could be enahnced so that if a user does not have access to a source that is being indexed signs in, they will not see any of those items in any results. I feel this could be done from either inside the product iteself, or relay on the underlying file system secuirty to provide results. Right now, if the files are indexed, all users have access to the data. An example would be that i would like to exluce the HR server which may have coporte salary information that has been indxed from an analitics user. Right now, I belive I would have to delete the HR source in it’s entirety to exclude the results. But then it negates the need to index the HR files to take other actions.
Another way to say what i’m looking for is that i want the ability to not just limit if a user can add/edit/delte a source, I want the ability for them to not see the files indexed from that source.
I’m open to other ideas as well. This post is a result of a support ticket saying this isn’t possible right now.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
We simply can not use NDC (or we would need to delete sources) for anyone other than an admin user.
