Provide visibility and configuration options for the additional scoring applied based on Info Count within a document.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Currently, the Data Classification scoring system appears to apply additional scoring when multiple instances of the same or related information are detected within a single document.
The Info Count indicates how many instances of the detected information are found in a document. However, the scoring logic associated with an increased Info Count is predefined within the product, and there is currently no way for administrators to view the underlying scoring formula or configure how the additional score is calculated.
For example, if a document contains the same type of information multiple times:
- Info Count = 1 → Base score
- Info Count = 2 → Base score + additional points
- Info Count = 3 → Base score + additional points
However, administrators cannot determine exactly how the additional score is calculated, nor can they configure the scoring rules.
We would like to request an enhancement that provides administrators with visibility into the scoring logic associated with Info Count and, preferably, allows them to configure the additional scoring rules.
For example, administrators could be able to define rules such as:
- Info Count = 2 → +10 points
- Info Count = 3 → +20 points
- Info Count = 4 or more → +30 points
Alternatively, the system could provide a configurable percentage-based scoring method.
This would allow administrators to understand why a document receives a particular classification score and adjust the scoring behavior according to their organization’s classification requirements.
The goal of this feature is not only to make the scoring system configurable, but also to provide transparency into how Info Count contributes to the final classification score.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Currently, there is no way for administrators to view or modify the scoring logic associated with Info Count.
When the Info Count increases, we can observe the resulting classification score, but we cannot determine the exact formula or logic used to calculate the additional score.
As a workaround, we have to test documents containing different numbers of matching instances and compare the resulting scores to try to understand the behavior.
However, this approach does not allow us to reliably control or predict the final score, and it is difficult to configure the classification behavior to meet specific organizational requirements.
Providing visibility into the scoring logic and allowing administrators to configure the additional scoring rules would make the classification system much more transparent, predictable, and flexible.
