Automatic Agent Group Assignment During Installation.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
It is proposed to consider enhancing the functionality of the System Configuration → Client Software section by adding a new field for pre-assigning an agent group during the download of the installation package.
Currently, this section allows downloading the agent and specifying the department to which the endpoint will belong after installation. However, there is no mechanism for pre-assigning a group to the agent, which complicates centralized management of agent groups at the installation stage within the environment.
To optimize the deployment process, it is proposed to implement an additional “Agent Group” field that would allow selecting a specific group at the stage of generating or downloading the agent package. In this case, after installation, the agent would automatically be assigned to the designated group without the need for manual reassignment in the administration console.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
The current approach increases the operational workload on administrators, particularly in cases of mass or regular agent deployments. Furthermore, performing this procedure manually increases the risk of errors, delays in applying required configurations, and additional time spent on routine administrative tasks.
