What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?

Backup/Deletion of Shadow Files on external storages should be possible with the audit log backup

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

The idea of the “audit log backup” is to back up logfiles and shadow-files and delete them afterwards if wanted.
If you store your shadow files only on the epp-server itself, then this feature is presumable working.
But if you have configured an external storage for your shadow files, like we have, then de “audit log backup” is neither backing up nor deleting shadow files from the external storage.
It would be nice if the audit log backup would get implemented in a way it also works reliable with external storages.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

the only workaround would be to manually back up the old shadow logs and delete them afterwards manually from the external storage

Implementing it would require substantial changes to the product’s current logic and given our fully established mid-to-long-term roadmap, we are unable to accommodate it at this time.
