What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
The addition of both a data collector and an action module that explicitly support PowerShell 7.x. in the Netwrix Access Analyzer (formerly Enterprise Auditor/StealthAUDIT) product line going forward.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
There should be the option to choose either a PowerShell 5.x OR a PowerShell 7.x data collector or action module in the product. There are certain products that require PowerShell 7.x, a glaring example is the exchange online PowerShell module.
The module is officially supported in PowerShell 7 on Windows, Linux, and Apple macOS:
- Module versions 3.5.0 (May 2024) or later require PowerShell 7.4.0 (November 2023) or later due to .NET 8.0 assembly dependencies. Earlier versions of PowerShell 7 might encounter compatibility issues (PowerShell 7.3.6 is more compatible than 7.3.7).
- Module versions 3.0.0 (September 2022) to 3.4.0 (October 2023) require PowerShell 7.2.0 (November 2021) or later due to .NET 6.0 assembly dependencies in REST API cmdlets and connections.
- Support for the module in PowerShell 7 started with version 2.0.4 (February 2021) in PowerShell 7.0.3 (July 2020).
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
The only available workaround is to not use the Netwrix Access Analyzer (formerly Enterprise Auditor/StealthAUDIT) platform, though we have purchased it, for automations that require PowerShell 7.
