What's New in Strongpoint for NetSuite 7.5 - Access Control, EULA, and API Updates

Netwrix Strongpoint for NetSuite 7.5

New: Updated access control settings on Custom Records required by NetSuite

NetSuite identified a security gap where the No Permission Required access type made Custom Record types publicly accessible, allowing full access to any user, including external and unauthenticated users over the Internet.

To address this issue, the External User Access and Unauthenticated Roles Access settings for custom records in Strongpoint for NetSuite have changed from blank to None. What this means:

  1. User logged in as Administrator, Strongpoint Developer Role, or Strongpoint Flashlight Role, and with a valid Strongpoint license, can view Strongpoint customizations.
  2. User logged in with any role that is not Administrator, Strongpoint Developer, or Strongpoint Flashlight, cannot view the customization record.
  3. User without a Strongpoint license cannot view the customization record.

Updated EULA

The EULA was updated for all Strongpoint for NetSuite components. The EULA is effective as of June 1, 2024. The updated EULA is:

BY CLICKING THE “I ACCEPT” BUTTON, DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE NETWRIX CORPORATION END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (“EULA”) AND ANY APPLICABLE PRODUCT-SPECIFIC RIDER IDENTIFIED IN YOUR ORDER (AS SUCH TERM IS DEFINED IN THE EULA), UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THEM.

This update applies to all Strongpoint for NetSuite products. It is included starting with these versions:

  • Core: 7.4.1
  • Jira: 1.4.2
  • ServiceNow: 1.1.7
  • SoD: 1.6.6.1
  • UAR: 1.1
  • Zendesk: 1.0.1

Strongpoint Jira Cloud and ServiceNow Integration API

The Jira Cloud (1.4.2) and ServiceNow integration (1.1.7) applications now use the Strongpoint API for Customization and Change Request Actions. This streamlines processing while delivering the same functionality. No changes are required for the user to take advantage of this new integration.

Here is a summary of the Strongpoint API. Details are available for each command.
