What’s Changed in Change Tracker 7.7

New: Gen7 Agent Release

The Gen7 Agent release provides a compression option for agent network traffic.

New: CIS Templates

New CIS templates added including Windows 10 standalone, Cisco IOS 17, and F5 Networks.

Enhancement: Updated CIS Templates

Several CIS templates have received an update including Windows 11 Enterprise, Windows Server 2019, SQL Server 2016, Microsoft IIS 10, Cisco IOS 15, and Cisco IOS 16.

Upgrade from Mono To Gen7 Agents

Upgrading from Mono to Gen7 Agents requires running the appropriate package upgrade command, which will differ depending on what OS is being used. For RHEL use ‘rpm -Uvh packagename.rpm’. The installer takes care of the Gen7 agent installation and the Mono agent uninstallation.

Alternatively, uploading the Gen7 installer to the central hub and pushing out an agent update will provide the same result. The agent updater package issues the same command that a user would if it were done manually.

Additional Notes

Please note that with this release, support for Netwrix Change Tracker 7.5 will be suspended on September 20, 2024. Make sure to update to the latest version within this timespan for continued support.

This release incorporates several CIS report updates. We highly encourage our customers to update to the latest versions with 7.7 to ensure continuous security and reliability.

With the 7.7 release, mono-based agents will reach an end-of-life and end-of-support state. We recommend utilizing Gen7 .NET core agents instead.
