About the session

According to MIT research reported by Fortune, employees at more than 90% of companies are using personal AI tools for work, often without IT approval, while only 40% of companies have purchased official LLM subscriptions. This growing gap has created what researchers describe as a “shadow AI economy”—employees are adopting AI faster than organizations can formally govern it.

That creates a new challenge for data security. When employees paste source code, customer information, financial data, intellectual property, or other sensitive content into tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or Gemini, traditional controls may not provide the visibility organizations need.

In this Learning Lab, we’ll explore how Netwrix Endpoint Protector (EPP) can extend Data Loss Prevention controls to AI tools, helping organizations understand what data is being shared and prevent sensitive information from leaving the organization.

During the session, you will learn about:

  • AI channels monitored by EPP, including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and others
  • Prerequisites for AI DLP, including DPI configuration and text inspection settings
  • Creating DLP policies to report or block sensitive information shared through AI tools
  • Reviewing and investigating AI-related DLP incidents

The objective isn’t to stop employees from using AI. It’s to enable AI adoption while keeping sensitive data under control. As AI becomes embedded in everyday workflows, extending DLP policies to these channels is becoming an essential part of protecting corporate data.
