Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

I would like to see a test button when establishing a new integration…such as SIEM…so that we dont have to wait for logs to ingest (or not ingest:( ). When Netwrix hosted customers are setting up new connections, we don’t always have access to the logs to know whether the connection is live or there is a failure. This is frustrating for the delay in confirmation and makes troubleshooting these connections take a lot longer than necessary. A “test connection” button would alleviate a lot of pain in establishing new connections.

I’m using SIEM as an example, but i’d really like to see this whenever a new connection to anything needs to be established.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Today, we are playing a convoluted game of telephone. I set up the console, and wait for feedback from our SIEM team. I then take what they’ve said and relay to our TAM. He then learns things on his end, and relays that information to me, who takes it back to our SIEM team in a cycle of doom. When there are delays in response, because of time zones and other priorities on all sides, it can really exacerbate the situation. I’d like to be able to respond with answers to my SIEM team in real time.
