Device Code in Effective Rights Export
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
Each year, we have a company-wide access review for those that have Portable Storage Device Access, for the sake of auditing but also to ensure that their access to these devices is still required.
Whilst I recognise that the Effective Rights list exists and can be exported, currently it does not include the device codes of the ‘specific devices’ a user has been granted access to. This would be great to add alongside the VID, PID and Serial Number information already available because it would allow us to:
-
Precisely audit which specific devices each user has access to, rather than just general categories.
-
Streamline access reviews by correlating user permissions directly with device identifiers.
Improve traceability in case of data loss or misuse, by linking activity to exact hardware. -
Support compliance efforts by providing a more complete picture of portable storage access across the organisation.
Including device codes in the Effective Rights export would significantly enhance our ability to perform thorough and efficient reviews, and we’d appreciate consideration of this feature in future updates.
It would also be valuable if the Effective Rights report allowed users to include additional contextual information—such as email addresses.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
By having to manually search for the device codes by looking at each user’s page individually from User > Manage Rights.
