Confirmation Request Regarding Metadata Logging Behavior

Hi Team,

We would like to confirm the expected behavior regarding metadata logging in Endpoint Protector.

We tested the following configuration:

  • Device Control → Global Settings → Metadata Options: Disabled

Based on our understanding, when the Metadata Options feature is disabled, metadata-related logs should not be generated.

However, during our testing, metadata-related files are still being recorded in the logs even after disabling this option.

Could you please confirm the following?

  1. Is this the expected behavior?

  2. If not, is this a known issue or a product defect?

  3. If it is a known issue, is there any workaround or planned fix available?

We have already informed the customer that we are checking this behavior with the development team, so we would appreciate your confirmation.

Thank you.

Hello,

When Metadata Scanning is disabled, the Endpoint Protector agent scans only the file body for sensitive content, metadata is excluded from content inspection.

Could you clarify what you mean by “metadata-related files are still being recorded in the logs after disabling this option”?

Thank you,
Zoran
