What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Assignment of “Predefining rights” to OU, to save configuration time.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
FYI: Predefining rights = rights template
There are many constellations in which a certain rights template must be used not only in one but several other OUs, as the other OUs are not located below the OU with the rights template. It is also possible that a rights template should be available as standard in one OU and as an option in the other OUs.
An example of this would be the following OU structure:
Customer OUs (“Customer - Default”, optional: “Product 1” and “Product 3” rights templates)
- Customer 1
– Product 1 (deviating “Product 1 - Default")
– Product 2
– Product 3 (deviating “Product 3 - Default") - Customer 2
– Product 1 (deviating “Product 1 - Default")
– Product 2
– Product 3 (deviating “Product 3 - Default")
To configure the rights templates, I would have to create four rights templates manually, even though they have already been configured in the “Customer” OU. It becomes really annoying and unnecessary if you then have to define more than 2 users or roles and possibly set different authorizations for OUs, passwords or documents!
PS: Because, for example, the OU permissions are different from the password permissions, it is not possible to set inheritance only for the OU permissions.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
Currently, a rights template is configured manually multiple times in every other OU.
