Since v12 includes SDD module, does the upgrade need to be done if not licensed for Sensitive Data? I’d imagine the upgrade should be needed but the question did cross my mind and was curious.

If you aren’t using SDD, then you don’t need to patch the vulnerability. However, if you want the other patches included in this CU, you would still need to upgrade.
