Ability to scope Advanced Scanning Exceptions

Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.

We have use cases where we want a sub-set of users to have an application excluded from advanced scanning, but not the entire userbase (e.g. Steam for VR developers). However, currently all of these exceptions are applied globally. The ability to scope either via AD group or individual users/systems would enable this functionality.

How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?

Currently no workaround, with all exclusion global in scope

Thank you for the clear use case — the VR developer example illustrates the need well. Having exceptions apply globally when the intent is to target a specific subset of users or systems is a real limitation for environments with varied roles and requirements.

We’re happy to let you know that improvements in this area are planned for the next couple of releases. We can’t share specific details yet, but scoping and granularity of scanning exceptions is something we’re actively working on.

We’ll update this thread as those releases become available.
