Endpoint Protector Client
What is a one sentence summary of your feature request?
Extend Endpoint Protector’s Data Classification integration to detect Titus classification labels applied directly to emails in Outlook Classic, allowing Content Aware Protection (CAP) policies to report or block emails based on those labels.
Please describe your idea in detail. What is your problem, why do you feel this idea is the best solution, etc.
I have configured a CAP denylist dictionary to detect Titus classification metadata. During testing, the policy successfully blocks labelled .docx, .xlsx and .pptx attachments. However, when a Titus label is applied directly to an email in Outlook Classic without a matching labelled attachment, the policy neither blocks the email nor generates a report.
Netwrix has confirmed that the current Data Classification integration detects Titus labels stored in file metadata but does not detect labels applied directly to emails. This leaves a gap where a classified email’s body may contain sensitive information, yet its classification label cannot be used to enforce a CAP policy.
I would like the integration to recognise email-level Titus classification labels and make them available as detection criteria within CAP policies. This would allow organisations to apply consistent classification-based controls to both emails and attachments, using the labels already assigned by employees.
How do you currently solve the challenges you have by not having this feature?
I currently use the CAP dictionary to detect and block labelled Office attachments, but this does not cover classification applied directly to emails.
I investigated whether the existing dictionary could detect an email-level label by exporting a labelled email as a .msg file and searching for the relevant metadata value. I could not locate that value, and I do not currently have a working classification-based workaround for email-only content.
